- RAISES: The Jonesboro City Council is considering a 6% salary increase for elected officials. However, some board members and citizens have expressed opposition to the ordinance. It comes after the council approved a pay increase for city workers last year.
- MEXICO EARTHQUAKE-ASUQ: Arkansas State University officials say no damages or injuries have been reported to the Queretaro campus or to its faculty, staff, and students. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook Mexico City yesterday, killing over 200 people. A dedication ceremony for the new campus will go on as planned tomorrow.
- MARIJUANA SYMPOSIUM: Member Station KUAR reports a half-day symposium is underway today for potential growers and distributors of medical marijuana. The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Association will host the symposium at UALR Bowen School of Law. TV host Montell Williams, a medical marijuana advocate, is to be the keynote speaker.
